(Loco, track and track power clips shown above not included, the throttle is the LAB model that has both rear track power outputs and front mounted power outputs that are not controlled by the 3 way switch, the RED is always positive and the BLACK always negative not affected by the position of the switch. The front outputs are useful for cleaning locos where you place the rear track output into OFF on the 3 way switch and plug the test leads that come with the LAB version to run your loco on its side or on a rolling test track like in the view above)

Louvers on each side provide convection cooling to eliminate the need for a fan.
Red and black 5 way banana binding posts provide easy wiring to the track and a 2.1 mm metal socket provides easy access for 5 amps of power.
The input voltage must be 1.1 times greater than the maximum desired output voltage. Up to 52 volts DC may be used on the input, however the power supply provided with the kit provides 24.6VDC at 6.5Amps for G Scale or smaller gauge railroads. The minimum input voltage required is 6VDC. Only fully regulated voltage may be used on the input and polarity must be observed.
How to hookup and use the SL-DC-5-SPS-Kit:
Get precision control of your analog trains with this ready to run set
1) Plug the power supply output cable to the throttle's input jack
2) Connect track to the throttle's output 5 way binding posts.
(Piko quick connect power track clips show below are optional) The binding posts work with up to 12AWG size cable. Choose cable size depending on your cable length;: use 18AWG cable for up to 10 feet, use 16 AWG for 10 to 30 feet and 14AWG cable up to 100 feet and over 100 feet use 12AWG cable (all available at our store) The larger the cable the power the power loss.
3) Connect AC Power: The SL Digital Throttle comes preset for running G Scale Trains using memory setting #1. See instructions or tutorial for setting up other memory locations for different Gauge Trains or your choice of maximum voltage, current or wattage allowed.
4) Push the Power ON/OFF button to connect the output power and the Forward button to set the direction and you are ready to run.
Notice the top line of the display shows Set: 0.00 5.10 for zero volts and 5.1 amps maximum when memory #1 setting is used for G scale trains. As the voltage on the track is adjusted you will see the voltage on the top line change as well as the Green output voltage.
5) Rotate the speed knob clockwise for faster speeds, counter clockwise for slower speeds and stop.
To change the momentum and accuracy of track voltage setting push the blue button at the center of the rotary control to cycle through your choice of 1V, 1/10V and 1/100V steps. (To recall memory setting #1 for G Scale trains just push and hold the the top left V/↑ button for 2 seconds.)
Run any Gauge Analog Layout! (loco, track and track power clips not included)
