The SL-6525911 lighting system provides; LED control/dimmer functions, a UPS circuit with a DC to DC changer and super capacitor bank for powering all 12 LEDs up to 3 minutes without track power, an Aux Out circuit as shown above can be wired to the exterior lamps so they automatically, slowly turn on when the train stops and go off when the train starts. The Automatic circuit has a special feature that smoothly brings the lamps to full brightness regardless of how fast the train stops.

Description:
This is ultimate lighting system for analog or PWM track powered trains designed and made in the USA by the Shourt Line. This is the only lighting system to provide 5 minutes of full lighting per 8 LEDs at low track voltage or no track voltage, automatically turns on lights of your choice when the train stops and hides all the electronics inside a weatherproof case that looks like a breakman's box under any short car.
The system includes the following: SL under car weatherproof case with the following functions; a 3 Amp throttle & LED controller/dimmer, a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Source) with super capacitor buffer for 3 minutes of lighting at at low or no track power, an always on output and auxiliary output that automatically slowly comes on when the train stops (track power < ~2 volts) and goes off when the train starts (track power > ~2 volts), input for DC (analog) or PWM track power or any source of power DC, PWM, DCC or Battery power up to 30 volts, All input and outputs have screw terminals for easy installation. The lighting system operates with the included LGB train controller or any other type of train controller; analog (DC), PWM DC, AC or DCC.
Use the Always On Outputs for interior lighting and the Aux. Output that slowly goes on when the train stops for the exterior lighting so that passengers can safely enter and exit the train. The lighting system is up to 94% efficient so that even the LGB starter set power pack can power a loco and two cars with 12 LEDs plus additional car lighting for future expansion of your railroad. The lighting system is also unique in not only operating at 1/6th the power of any other available type but it also works at the lowest track voltage or no track voltage, it fact it operates up to 3 minutes without any track power! The SL-6525911 Case comes with 2 screws for mounting on an LGB short car in minutes. It also can be used with other cars using the supplied mounting screws. For long length cars use the SL-8525911 version that has the same features and a case with terminals on the long side for easily wiring on long cars.
The SL LED controller includes a dimmer to adjust your choice of lighting level and works at full brightness at slow loco speeds (low track voltage) or no track power for up to 3 minutes via the built in UPS (Uninterrupted Power Source) that utilizes a DC to DC converter for charging a Super Capacitor Bank at up to 94% efficiency. No more dark passenger cars when you stop at the station.

SL-6525911 Mounting and Wiring:
Note that the SL-6525911 fits on the bottom of LGB short cars between the air tanks and terminals at each end allow easy wiring car lighting, wheel or loco power pickups and to additional cars for control and dimming of car lighting. (Power connectors and train with track not included)
Mount on the bottom any short car (LGB passenger car shown above - sold separately) in minutes using the mounting screws and mounting holes found on LGB short cars. For non-LGB cars drill a pilot hole in the bottom of the car after placing the SL-6525911 in the center of the bottom as shown above. Test the movement of the trucks to ensure the wheel do not touch the controller case. To dim the LED brightness, place the care on its side as shown above and use a small screw driver to turn the SL-6525911's LED dimmer control (see red circle in photos) counter-clockwise as shown above. See the instructions included in the set for before turning the control clockwise to make the LEDs brighter. (Power connectors and train with track not included)
The Case has screw terminal blocks for easy solderless wiring. The case also has pass through slots so SL twin micro cables can be routed through the case to the other side of the car when required. The case is weather proof and the terminals wire connectors are have waterproof connections to the electronics mounted inside. The case lid is on top of the case when mounted to a car and can be made waterproof in minutes using silicon on the weather proof seal built into the lid and on the dimmer adjustment hole on the face of the case.
The lighting fixtures LED's control and dimming is provided by the miniature SL 8453003 Precision Train Throttle & LED controller mounted inside the SL-6525911 case. The controller can power and dim over 300 LEDs at up to 94% efficiency from AC,DC or DCC at 4 to 35 volts.
This a an example of the SL Interior 4 LED Tiffany style Opal Lamp fixture and two of the SL Exterior 1 LED Tiffany style Opal Lamp fixtures mounted over the exterior platforms. The interior lights are wired to the Always ON output and the exterior lights are wired to the Aux on stop output terminals. (Power connectors and train with track not included)
LED car to car lighting can be done with the SL 3 pin LED connector as shown above. The three connectors provide both Interior and automatic Exterior lighting for up to 40 cars using only one controller. The connectors have a fast release feature in case of derailment so wires can not be damaged. (Power connectors and train with track not included)

SL 3 pin power connectors provide power and control for the interior and exterior auto on lighting. This photo shows the 3 pin connector at the front of the blue 2nd car. Additional cars with lighting can be added by using the supplied 3 pin connector at the rear of each car as shown below. (Power connectors and train with track not included)
The bottom view above shows the SL female 3 pin the rear (right) connector and the SL male 3 pin connector (left) connector. Note the mounting holes at the center of LGB short cars that provide an excellent place to mount the SL-6525911 lighting system on a car (see photo above).
