Background:
The famous “030 T” meter-gauge locomotives operated all over France and in many other European countries. They were used in front of passenger and freight trains alike and were also used for switching. Today, several of these beautiful locomotives can be seen in museums. The LGB model captures the appearance of this classic steam loco. The three-axle chassis with its precisely calibrated gearbox provides excellent running characteristics. The loco can also be equipped with an onboard Massoth XLS digital sound/motor decoder and Massoth Pulsed Smoke Generator. This loco can also be equipped with firebox lights.
The Model This detailed replica features: - weather-resistant construction - four-way power control switch - protected gearbox with seven-pole Bühler motor - six powered wheels - one traction tire - eight power pickups - voltage stabilization circuit - smoke generator - automatic directional lanterns - one multi-purpose socket - length: 305 mm (12.0 in) - weight: 2600 g (5.7 lb)
The loco together with its original box, instruction manual, and driver figure are in factory-new condition.
The Prototype:
Narrow gauge steam engines were the main product of the L. Corpet Locomotive Works in Paris. After the death of Lucien Corpet, his wife continued running the firm with the help of Monsieur Louvet, the name of the firm became Corpet-Louvet et Compagnie Although the firm still exists, it stopped building steam locomotive in 1952. until that time it had manufactured 1880 locomotives, most of them narrow gauge.
This LGB model is a reproduction of the firms famous Type 030T meter-gauge locomotive. 826 of these beautiful locomotives were built, and they were used thought out France and in may other European countries. Indeed, the 030 T is considered to be a classic example of narrow gauge steam locomotive.
The Model Features:
This is one of my favorite LGB models and offers all the advantages of the pre-marklin LGB German products for operation with analog power or MTS, DCC using address 0 for analog locos. These LGB corpet locos have room inside for a Massoth XLS motor decoder with digital sound and a Massoth Pulse Smoke Generator (see our store for these items - installation available also available).
The loco is factory new and comes with the original Factory box, packing, locomotive, engineer and tube of glue.

Interior Lighting: Use Shourt Line interior warm white LED light fixtures for prototypical accurate cab ceiling/instrument lighting and also above the coal bin for nighttime operations. Lighting also works in daylight as shown below. Note 180 degree illumination from these Shourt Line interior lights with prototypical correct size wiring.

The New ESU 16 bit Hi Fi 12watt V5.0 XLS Sound Decoder has a powerful 4 Amp motor decoder. Up to 8 sound channels and 17 function outputs and 4 servo outputs.
Automatic Power Buffer: The ESU V5.0 XLS has a built in power buffer to avoid stalls or jerky operation on dirty track or plastic switch points..
Additionally you an use the The Shourt Line 6101222 Automatic 2 Wire 22,200uF Power Buffer is the perfect size for this LGB Corpet Loco. It fits inside the loco with XLS sound decoder and pulse smoke generator with room to spare.
The shoes of this loco may be removed once the Shourt Line 6101222 Auto Power Buffer is installed for a more prototypical appearance and to avoid the shoes catching on your switch tracks (points).

Smoke Stack Cover Magnetic Latch:
Shourt LIne offers a Magnetic Latch to protect your smoke generator on this and similar LGB models. (service required) The smoke stack cover supplied with LGB locos must be open when operating with a smoke generator. To keep the smoke stack cover open and/or closed use the Shourt Line smoke stack magnetic latch Item No.: 3120840
The rare earth magnets used to latch the smoke stack cover open and closed will ensure safe operation of a smoke generator (open position and keep rain out of the stack when not operating (closed position). The latch will ensure an open smoke stack stays open and a closed smoke stack stays closed. Just one or close the smoke stack cover and the magnetic latch will hold the cover in the position selected.
