RC Uncouplers:
The Diesel Shunting Locomotive No. 21900 has both front and rear RC uncouplers. The uncouplers are controlled using your analog train controller, no additional equipment is required. Both the front and rear uncouplers work with even with double coupled cars.
The uncoupler has two motions, first the loco's hook is driven downwards and at the same time the coupling ring has be altered so it splits and moves outward causing a cars hook to travel downwards so that that even double coupled vehicles can be easily uncoupled.
Uncouplilng is done by changing the voltage on the track using your speed controller as described below. The yellow and red cab roof lights light when a coupler has been activated (yellow light on) and set to uncouple (red light on).
Uncoupling Operation Steps
1. Stop to uncouple
2. Rotate controller knob slowly from 12 to 13 volts DC
3. The Yellow uncoupling lamp on the roof will be lit to start uncoupling
4. The Red uncoupling lamp on the roof will be lit when the a coupler is uncoupled.
Perform Either step 5. or 6. below to return the couplers to normal
5. Drive the locomotive is driven away, the coupling of the respective coaches will be released and the Red lamp will be extinguished to signal normal mode.
6. Without driving away, the couplers can be set to normal mode by lowering the voltage to 8 volts, then slowly raise the voltage to 12 volts, both couplers return to normal and the RED roof light will go out.
7. After step 5. or 6., the uncoupling operation has been completed. The coupling hook returns to the normal, original position and the RED roof lamp is extinguished
Note that when a DUO Red light is OFF both couplers are the same as any LGB coupler and can be used to couple to cars as usual. Note also that if the track voltage is above 8 volts the Red lamp show the stauts of the uncouplers, Red on = uncoupled, Red off = normal coupler status. To return the couplers to normal follow Step 6 above.

The loco is brand new in the box. Four wheels are driven and one has a traction tire. Six points of power pickup.
This animated sequence starts with controller set to forward at 12 volts with head lights illuminated, then set to reverse and the voltage is raised to 14 volts to active the front uncoupler, then the voltage is lowered to return the coupler to normal. The action is repeated and then the animation restarts with the head lights on. The the Red roof light is lit when the uncoupler is activated.
This animated sequence is the same as above with the direction is reversed for uncoupling cars at the rear of the loco. Note that the coupler can also be returned to normal by driving the loco away.
The Locomotive has power jacks on the rear of the cab for powering car lighting or sound systems.
Don't miss loco about to leave the yard!
