Our original of the Type Hannover-E, with three
passenger compartment windows, was built in
1933 by the wagon company Wismar under the
Manufacturers No. 20202 and put into service by
the Steinhuder Meer-Bahn under designation No.
SK1.
The two Ford-AA-Gasoline engines of 45 hp
each, were operated according to the direction of
travel; max. speed 25 km/h.
Since 1970 this rail-bus, under the designation
VT 41, has been in regular service by DEVon the
railway line, Bruchhausen - Vilsen - Asendorf.
Wismar Rail-Busses were built, in various types,
between 1932 and 1941 in all popular gauges,
750, 785, 900, 1000 and 1435 mm. They were
operated almost everywhere on many private
branch lines and narrow gauge railways, but also
on the Deutsche Reichsbahn in Northern
Germany. This remarkable vehicle could also be
found however, in Western Germany, in the regions of the Saar, in Lower Silesia and also in
Spain.
