Description:
Intelligent sound control coordinated to the operation situation (i.e., speed, starting stopping etc. of the loco) Automatically generates operating (motor) sound of the locomotive, "squealing' breaks, standing sounds such as air pumps etc.
Sound changes as engine load changes for prototypical operation under such as up/down grade operation; reaction to load change can be adjusted.
The "Smart-Start" functions when starting the loco, the sound module stops the decoder from operating until actual starting of the vehicle synchronizes with the e sound of the motor. The loco does not move unit the very starting sound begins ensuring perfect synchronization.
Adjustable volume and audio muting: the sound can be faded or turned off by function key, e.g. when the train travels into and away from a shadow station or tunnel.
Up to three modules can be connect to a loco motive decoder.

Sound Decoder comes with a powerful Visaton 8 ohm speaker and a pre wired harness with slip on connectors for speaker connection and SUSI cable and connector for Motor Decoder SUSI port and all required mounting hardware.
The sound decoder is micro size yet powerful, with a SUSI cable and plug and speaker cable with slip on speaker connectors quick and easy solder less connections.
The Decoders SUSI bus port allows a plug and play connection to sound decoder board (shown above), pulse smoker, RC servo and other SUSI bus devices. (Loco decoder not included with the sound kit) The SUSI bus delivers power and bi-directional communication for up to 3 external devices. Check here for the NMRA approved SUSI bus Specification.

Easy Decoder and Digital Sound System Installation in minutes.
Only a small philips head screw driver is required for installation:
- Remove the screws on the bottom of the loco and lift off the top of the loco:
- Remove the factory installed analog wiring harness:
- Plug the sound boards SUSI bus cable into the decoder (required for sound board to work) and connect the speaker to the sound boards speaker connectors:
- Install the decoder and speaker on the mounting posts provided on the base of the loco and mount the sound board as shown below:
- Plug the connectors to the front motor block and front light being sure to route the bulb wires between the guides at the center of the loco base:
- Plug the connectors to the rear motor block and rear light being sure to route the bulb wires between the guides at the center of the loco base:
- Replace the top of the loco and the 10 screws removed previously:
- Run you loco!
PIKO Locos are DCC ready with built in mounting studs for the PIKO 3 Amp decoder, sound board and Visaton speaker.
Easy connection to a loco decoder via the SUSI bus cable and to the included speaker via slip on connectors. No soldering required for install. (motor decoder shown on left is required but is not included with the sound decoder kit)
